Richard “Rick” R. Bradley joined Haley & Olson, P.C. in January 2024.  Prior to joining the firm, Rick served as Staff Attorney for Justices Al Scoggins, John Neill, and Steve Smith of the 10th Court of Appeals and for Chief Justice Roy Valdez and Justice Dori Contreras of the 13th Court of Appeals.  As a Staff Attorney, Rick participated in the drafting of judicial opinions in more than 1,500 civil and criminal appeals.  Rick is one of two attorneys in the State of Texas who are certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Civil Appellate Law and Criminal Appellate Law.  

Rick has published several law review articles on varied topics, and he previously served as the Chief Recent Developments Editor for the Environmental & Energy Law & Policy Journal.  In law school, Rick clerked for the Honorable Judge Vanessa Gilmore of the Southern District of Texas, as well as for the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice and for a law firm specializing in securities law.  He also served as a Research Assistant for two law professors at the University of Houston Law Center.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Rick was a power scheduler for a major energy company.

Rick is dedicated to serving his community.  He has served as the President of the Texas Association of Appellate Court Attorneys, Secretary and Mentor Coordinator for the Judge Abner V. McCall Inn of Court, President-Elect of the Kiwanis Club of Waco, and as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Waco Foundation Board.  He has also coordinated internship programs at both the 10th and 13th Courts of Appeals and has mentored numerous law students.

In his free time, Rick loves to spend time with his wife, Ashley, and his two children.  He and his family are active members of First Woodway Baptist Church where they co-teach a Sunday school class for preschoolers.  Rick also enjoys coaching soccer, attending Longhorn football games, and playing golf.
